Chemical Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is one of the most commonly performed procedures for treating spider veins.
It is performed by applying injectable sclerosing substances that, when they come into contact with the diseased vein, trigger an inflammatory reaction, causing it to close.
Safe and effective, Sclerotherapy is performed in the office, without the need for anesthesia or rest afterwards.

Indications

Conventional sclerotherapy is indicated for the treatment of nourishing veins and spider veins that cause pain, burning and aesthetic discomfort in the area.

Advantages

The advantages of conventional sclerotherapy are its ease of application, effectiveness, with little discomfort, normally well tolerated by patients, without the need for anesthesia or rest after the procedure.

Procedure

The procedure is performed in the office, through the application of injectable sclerosing substances (glucose and polidocanol in varying concentrations) with the placement of a small dressing on the site after application. There is no need to use elastic stockings, rest or take time off from daily activities.

Post-treatment

After treating spider veins with conventional sclerotherapy, there is no need to rest, wear elastic stockings, or restrict daily activities. Medical monitoring is ideal to obtain the best results.

Expected results

Treating spider veins with conventional sclerotherapy results in an inflammatory process in the vessel that ends over a few weeks with its closure, making it no longer visible.
